Revisiting Family Video Store™
Inside the mind of New York City based music video factory
Phase One (一)
January 2022 to September 2022
“The first couple music videos I directed and produced were shot on a dinky Nikon DSLR camera I’ve had since high school. Having just graduated from college, I started waiting tables in hopes of moving to Los Angeles.

“I was inspired by Saul Bass, anti-design, and bold typography.”
Phase Two (二)
October 2022 to May 2023
“Upon the success of ‘Muchuu’ and ‘Madeline,’ I moved to New York City and connected with Asian-American creatives. Inspired by haute-couture and fashion photography, my work began to reflect a darker landscape.”

“I built a community for BIPOC, queer, and Asian creatives.”
Phase Three (三)
June 2023 to November 2023
“I had been fascinated with hyperpop and the underground club scene since moving to New York City, so it was a privilege to work with some of the biggest names associated with the music / pop culture phenomenon.”

“Bringing Technicolor to Bedroom Pop”
Phase Four (四)
January 2024 to December 2024
“In 2024 I began working with major record labels including Epitaph Records and Robbins Entertainment. Family Video Store™ officially filed with the United States Trademark & Patent Office and elected S-Corp status.”

“Post-French New Wave: From rags to riches.”
Phase Five (四)
January 2025 to Present
